St. Francis

Located in the heart of the Great Plains in Northwest Kansas on US Highway 36 and Kansas Highway 27, St. Francis is a friendly, progressive county seat town that takes pride in the services it offers. A variety of businesses, great schools, outstanding medical facilities, a beautiful golf course, an airport with blacktop runway, a number of churches, a swimming pool and places to go fishing all make this a unique place to call home.

During the spring, enjoy the Saturday in the Park car show.  For summer fun, the community supports activities like the annual Relay for Life event held at Sawhill Park, welcoming home alumni, and a July 4th Spectacular. The Cheyenne County Fair takes place in August, with many people coming to our Home-owned Carnival.  In fall, the school year begins.  The community is a huge supporter of the Indians, with most of the community attending the athletic, musical, and drama events that the school provides.  Our school district also ranks highly, having received the Governor’s Achievement Award, most recently in 2009-10. You can access the school’s state reports by clicking here.

You should consider St. Francis as a place to live.  You can become as involved as you like through various community activities and organizations or, if you prefer, you can just enjoy the quietness that a small town has to offer.
